HOW TO CREATE A VISUAL FEAST WITH ARTISANAL WALL FINISHES:

RESTAURANT INTERIOR DESIGN IN CONCORD, MASSACHUSETTS

Arteriors has a repertoire of signature interior design wall finishes and many of them are showcased at Fiorella’s new restaurant in historic Concord, Massachusetts. Old world color washes blend with damask all-over stenciling and the window and doors have been treated to our “I can’t believe it’s not real” faux oxidized copper. These finishes are all part of the art branding for all 5 Fiorella’s interiors. The interior ambiance goes hand-in-hand with the delicious fare which is a celebration of rustic Italian cuisine.

Just as owner Remon Karian shines as restaurateur extraordinaire, Genevieve Karian’s skills as graphic and interior designer are the guiding light in creating an atmosphere that is both warm, inviting and a visual feast. Collaborating with her on the restaurant interior design is a treat for us. When brain- storming with the owners one day during the renovations we were asked if there was anything that could be done to the large mirror behind the bar. “Perhaps a pattern could be applied, similar to the bead board damask finish?” From there the concept of the silver leaf mirror painting was developed.

The process of gilding a mirror takes several steps and is entirely worthy of the result; a stunning focal point that dances with layers of reflection and pattern.

In the larger dining room we glazed the panels with a rose-gold metallic finish, and stippled all of the surrounding frames with a nut-brown paint application. The walls above are painted with Fiorella’s quintessential terra-cotta color wash, providing a cohesive restaurant design. After a day of exploring the rich history of Concord, Fiorella’s is the place to unwind, drink in the visual luxury and enjoy a delicious meal!
