Custom Adobe Decorative Plaster Architecture Finish
Our recent collaboration on the complete renovation of the Painted Burro restaurant, in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge consisted of custom interior wall faux finishes using Venetian plaster in a stucco venetian plaster surface design. To align with Sousa Design’s vision, the Arteriors team sculpted the corners and wall edges of the restaurant’s interior to make the decorative plaster resemble an historic adobe finish in the Southwest. A warm color palette of weather-swept earth-tones was used to evoke that southwest pueblo interior.
The custom, gritty, organic wall finish was achieved artistically with aggregate and plaster. Arteriors finished the walls with a custom faux paint patina wash to create the time-worn and weathered look.
Venetian plaster is ideal for decorative finish application in a restaurant as it is a natural material with a high lime content that prevents mildew and mold and contributes to making the air healthier for patrons and employees.
