Mural Arts

Murals are our jam. As trained artists we love designing and making these decorative wall paintings

 Murals were decoration as far back as Palaeolithic times and are found in ancient cave paintings tens of thousands of years old. We focus our expertise on the present and can bring you the surrounding environment of your dreams. Mural techniques include frescos, mosaics, trompe l’oeil, sign paintings, ceiling murals, map murals, seascapes, panoramas and more. We especially love dreamy, clouded and forested landscapes inspired by the Hudson River School painters.  We listen and work closely with our owner designer clients to make your vision come true.

Muralists never stop learning. Each new project is an opportunity to study art history and borrow a visual tool from someone who has gone before us.

Arteriors is especially noted for landscape murals based on Hudson River School Painters of the mid nineteenth century. Their work has inspired and informed our work in terms of sense of color, painterly realism and depth of field. Consequently our sky murals depict the subtle changes in hue from light aqua horizons to deep cobalt blues at the height of the sky. Clouds are multi-layered and will shift from violets to sun-kissed amber and peach tones.

Panoramic murals can also be monochromatic. If the room requires hues of taupe and gray the mural will be rendered in those exact colors. Content and composition is coordinated to compliment the overall design. Our work is always customized to reflect the designer’s plan.
